Extra-Judicial Employment Fast Track Program

A 12 week pre-apprenticeship program led by the Skilled Trades College of Canada. Participants have the opportunity to select from 3 programs (Electrical, Plumbing, and Intro to Home Renovation) subsidized by A4H.

Intro to Home Renovation Program

Course overview:

The Intro to Home Renovation Program at the Skilled Trades College of Canada was designed to meet the current need for skilled trade workers in Ontario’s booming construction industry. In just 12 weeks, students collectively build a 1000 square foot house to completion, with finishes.

Students will cover the basics of Framing, Drywall, Taping, Footings, Vapor Barrier, Insulation, rough-in Electrical, rough-in Plumbing, and all relevant general construction work.

Trainees will be taught how to use the tools and apply the proper techniques required to be successful in a variety of general construction-related jobs. Graduates receive high-end Milwaukee Tools, safety certifications, and PPE.

Duration: 12 weeks
Monday-Friday 8:30 AM - 3 PM

Prerequisite:

  • Minimum CLB level 5
  • Have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent; or
  • Be at least 18 years of age and pass a Superintendent approved qualifying test
  • Must be a permanent resident of Canada
  • Must be able to provide a Social Insurance Number
Electrician Pre-apprenticeship Program

Course overview:

The Electrical Pre-Apprentice Program at the Skilled Trades College of Canada was designed to give students the right mix of theoretical and hands-on training to make them successful apprentices. Electricians are tradespeople who specialize in designing, installing, and maintaining electrical systems.

Electricians have many duties such as planning projects, installing new or upgrading old systems, wiring, receptacles, lighting fixtures, and much more. Graduates receive high-end Milwaukee Tools, safety certifications, and PPE.

Duration: 12 weeks
